About Us

Bert Shlensky and his executive team bring a combined and diverse 40 years of experience to every project with a strong analytical, professional and creative foundation. Right and Left Brain Solutions is a small organization with low overhead but large capabilities. Each project is headed by one of the principals who are personally involved in sales, program planning and execution. The projects are then staffed with our network of expert professionals. We are particularly expert in marketing, new-product launches, off-shore sourcing, inventory management and direct marketing.

The firm recruits specialists with both industry and professional skills for each project. Our mantra is to provide professionals with technical skills who will develop innovative solutions that can be executed by our clients. The Right and Left Brain team bring experience in strategy, marketing, e-commerce and sales to the table of each project.

Bert Shlensky, Ph.D. - Founder

Bert Shlensky, Ph.D. has over 30 years of executive experience as a visionary, results-driven executive leader. He has a strong track record of achieving growth and operating successful businesses.

After founding Right and Left Brain Integrated Solutions in 2004, Bert has worked heavily in the home furnishings industry.

Most recently, his company has initiated three entrepreneurial startup businesses that achieved sales within 6 months of their funding. The first was involved in marketing an innovative two piece slip cover to key retailers like J. C. Penney and Wal-Mart. The second combined Chinese production, internet marketing and innovative logistics to market high-quality slip-covered furniture at $500 less than competition with 2 week in-stock deliveries.

The company also recently launched a program with an innovative slipcovered headboard that will sell for $100 compared to comparative products for $300-$500. The program is projected to reach about $5 million in 2009 with initial placements in Bed Bath & Beyond, Target online, and 15 other internet sites.

Prior to founding Right and Left Brain Integrated Solutions, Bert was President and CEO of Sure Fit Products. He joined Sure Fit in 1992 as a turn around specialist to rescue a company from a failed leverage buy out. With his help, Sure Fit grew from $50 to $150 million in five years with $12 million in operating profits and was positioned to be the category leader.

Prior to joining Sure Fit, Bert headed a number of West Point-Pepperell’s business units. He joined West Point in 1985 as President of their apparel fabrics business. He then headed the $400 million Cluett shirt group, which included Arrow, Burberry, Colors and private label shirt companies. He reorganized the division into marketing and operations groups, expanded importing, and developed a number of marketing and operations groups.

Bert graduated from Roosevelt University and received his MBA and Ph.D. from the Sloan School of Management at M.I.T. He has also participated in a number of programs at Harvard’s Kennedy Institute and Lehigh University’s entrepreneur program.
